ALCOHOLIC DRINKS CONSUMPTION BEHAVIORS OF EDUCATION STUDENTS AT PIBULSONGKRAM RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

This survey aimed to study alcohol consumption behavior and factors affecting alcohol consumption among education students at Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University. The sample consisted of 352 first-to-fourth-year education students selected through simple random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire on alcohol consumption behavior with a reliability coefficient of 0.89. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis.
Results showed that students consumed alcohol during social gatherings (28.37%) and for enjoyment (24.82%). Most students were aged 18-20 years (62.8%) and resided in off-campus dormitories (70.2%). The majority spent 101-300 baht per drinking session (53.87%). Beer was the most popular alcoholic beverage (46.10%), followed by spirits (44.89%). Most students drank with friends (54.62%) and typically before midnight (69.86%). Nightclubs were the most popular drinking venues (29.79%). Students primarily received alcohol-related information through social media networks (55.40%) and purchased alcohol from grocery stores (26.20%). Logistic regression analysis revealed that peer influence (Wald = 19.41, p < 0.001) and off-campus residence (Wald = 11.23, p = 0.001)
