Development of a Smoke-Free Clay Pot Coffee Roaster to Enhance High Competence in Innovation Skills for Vocational Education Learners

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) study the basic information, problems, and needs of a smoke-free clay pot coffee roaster to enhance high-level innovation skills for vocational education learners; (2) develop the smoke-free clay pot coffee roaster to enhance high-level innovation skills for vocational education learners; (3) test the use of the smoke-free clay pot coffee roaster to enhance high-level innovation skills for vocational education learners; and (4) evaluate the effectiveness of using the smoke-free clay pot coffee roaster to enhance high-level innovation skills for vocational education learners. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) methodology. Data collection tools included questionnaires, focus group discussion records, and data collection forms. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

The study found that:

The problems and needs for innovation in addressing issues were at a high level, and the components for enhancing high-level innovation skills for vocational education learners included: 1) deeply understanding the problem (Empathize), 2) identifying the problem and its framework (Define), 3) finding solutions (Ideate), 4) creating prototypes (Prototype), and 5) testing (Test).


2. 2. Experts rated the quality of the smoke-free clay pot coffee roaster to enhance high-level innovation skills for vocational education learners as high.


3. 3. The efficiency of the smoke-free clay pot coffee roaster was high, and the efficiency of teaching for learners in the project course had an efficiency of 82.97/81.76.


4. 4. Experts rated the effectiveness at the highest level, and both farmers and learners expressed the highest satisfaction.
