GOOD GOVERNANCE AND THE PROMOTION OF BUDDHISM

Abstract

This research aims to study the relationship between good governance and the propagation of Buddhism in the context of the current society. Good governance consists of transparency, participation, responsibility, equality, and important roles in building trust and reliability in the process of propagation of Buddhism. It was found that the organization and management system in the Sangha, by setting the chain of command structure for managing religious personnel, makes the propagation of teachings systematic. The Sangha administration based on good governance helps monks. There is supervision to ensure that monks have appropriate behavior and can adapt to the globalization era. Good governance is an important mechanism for propagating Buddhism. Buddhist teachings reach all groups of people equally and in line with the times.
