Announcement Date: March 2, 2021

Due to the rigorous process required for article review and preparation for publication in the Journal of Modern Buddhist Studies (JMBS), including copyediting and production, the journal hereby announces the suspension or indefinite postponement of the publication of certain articles under the following circumstances:

Reasons for Suspension or Delay:
  1. Inability to Contact the Author

    • The journal has made multiple attempts to contact the author without receiving a response, making it impossible to proceed with the required steps.
  2. Refusal to Revise Articles

    • Despite receiving editorial feedback, the author has declined or failed to revise the article within the specified timeframe.
  3. Lack of Proof of Payment for Additional Fees

    • While the journal does not charge publication fees, authors must provide proof of payment for any additional services, such as English language editing, if applicable.
  4. Inaccurate English Abstract

    • If the English abstract is found to be inadequate, the journal will arrange for professional language editing. The author is responsible for covering the cost of this service.
Note to Authors:

It is the author's responsibility to regularly monitor the progress and status of their submission. The journal reserves the right to amend these conditions and procedures as necessary to maintain academic standards and excellence in the publication of modern Buddhist studies.
