Abstract

This article presents insights into the revolution of graphic design teaching at the vocational education level through the integration of artificial intelligence technology (AI Firefly) with Problem-based Learning (PBL). Based on teaching experience in the digital graphics field, traditional teaching methods focusing on repetitive practice cannot truly meet the demands of the digital-era labor market. Combining AI Firefly with PBL emerges as an interesting alternative, as it allows students to learn through solving real problems while using AI as a tool to create work quickly, allowing more time to focus on analytical thinking and creative development. The study found that AI Firefly possesses outstanding capabilities in automatically generating images and graphics that accurately meet requirements. It integrates smoothly with standard design software that students already use and features a learner-friendly interface. When implemented with PBL, it helps stimulate students to develop analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills through unlimited creative experimentation. Despite certain limitations, the integration of AI Firefly with PBL represents a significant step in elevating graphic design education for digital graphics students at the vocational level, enabling the production of graduates who are truly prepared to face challenges in the digital era.
