Policy on the Creative Use of AI for Article Authors

2025-09-08

Journal of social studies perspectives recognizes the development of AI technologies that can support the creation of academic writing. To ensure that the use of AI is transparent, accurate, and does not violate academic principles, the journal establishes the following policy for article authors:

1. Disclosure of AI Usage
Authors must inform the editorial team if any AI tools are used to assist in writing or preparing article content, including drafting text, translating language, or generating academic illustrations. The type and role of AI must be clearly specified.

2. Academic Quality Control
Content created or assisted by AI must be reviewed and edited by the author to ensure that the information is accurate, reliable, and consistent with the journal’s academic standards.

3. Copyright Compliance
Authors are responsible for any content generated by AI. The use of AI-generated material that infringes on copyright or the rights of third parties is strictly prohibited. If AI-generated content or images are used, authors must ensure that such materials are permissible for public use.

4. Credit and Citation
When AI is used to generate content, data, or illustrations, authors should provide proper acknowledgment, including the name and version of the AI tool, to maintain transparency and fairness for readers.

5. Encouragement of Author Creativity
Authors are encouraged to use AI as a tool for analysis, structuring, or idea generation. However, AI must not be used to write the article entirely on behalf of the author. The author must play a central role in summarizing, analyzing, and presenting the academic content.
