Abstract

The OBEC Moral Schools Project is an initiative of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) to continue the royal philosophy and respond to the royal command of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the educational policy of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. These initiatives aim to instill five virtues in administrators, teachers, students, and educational personnel: sufficiency, gratitude, honesty, responsibility, and moral ideology. These principles are applied in conjunction with the royal philosophy, which encompasses the uniqueness of the Thai people and has been passed down through generations. This initiative fosters quality citizenship by implementing projects or activities based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which encompasses sufficiency, reasonableness, and self-immunity. The OBEC Moral Schools development process involves six steps: Step 1: Building awareness and acceptance; Step 2: Creating core teachers and student leaders; Step 3: Defining the school's moral identity; Step 4: Determining methods to achieve the school's moral identity; Step 5: Taking action to achieve change goals; and Step 6: Creating a mechanism to drive the school's morality towards success. This begins with participatory planning. Promote, support, and reinforce effective operations. Importantly, there must be supervision, monitoring, and knowledge exchange to evaluate performance, as well as lessons learned for public relations purposes, promoting the continuation of the King's philosophy through participation in the Moral School Project for sustainable development of educational quality.
