This research article aims to (1) examine the level of environmental awareness, (2) investigate waste management behavior based on circular economy principles, and (3) analyze the relationship and influence of environmental awareness on waste management behavior. The study employed a cross-sectional quantitative research design with a sample of 400 respondents. The research instrument was a validated and reliable questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis.
The findings revealed that respondents demonstrated a high level of environmental awareness and frequently engaged in waste management behaviors. Environmental awareness showed a significant positive correlation with waste management behavior and explained 28.7% of the variance with the environmental problem reduction dimension having the strongest influence. These findings highlight the necessity of developing integrated strategies that emphasize community participation, household-level incentives, and waste separation infrastructure development through collaboration among the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the private sector, and community organizations to sustainably promote circular economy at the local level.
