Development of electric three-wheeled truck

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to: (1) develop an electric three-wheeled truck; (2) find out the quality of the electric three-wheeled truck; (3) find out the efficiency of electric the three-wheeled truck; and (4) study users’ satisfaction on the electric three-wheeled truck. Due to the pollution problems caused by the combustion of the engine, the mobility of vehicles in areas with limited space and the driving functions of a multi-purposed sidecar, the researcher, therefore was interested in constructing an electric three-wheeled truck. In this research, the population and samples included 5 lecturers in Automotive Technology Department of Krabi Technical College and 7 vendors who used sidecar motorcycles in Krabi downtown area. The research tools consisted of a quality assessment form, data record form, and a satisfaction assessment form. The research statistics included mean, standard deviation, and percentage.
The results showed that the developed electric three-wheeled truck had the following characteristics, i.e., 800W 48V-electric car driven motor through a differential system. The power supply is a 48V battery. The electric three-wheeled truck’s quality was at the best level with the mean value of 4.75 and the standard deviation of 0.4. The efficiency of the electric three-wheeled trucks was 94 percent and the users’ satisfaction was at the highest level. It can be concluded that the electric three-wheeled truck was suitable to use in conditions where space is limited with high mobility in driving and environmental friendly by reducing air pollution.
