Developing Learning by Collaboration and Critical Thinking Displaying (LCD) Model

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) develop a Learning by Collaboration and Critical Thinking Displaying (LCD) Model; 2) implement the LCD Model; and 3) evaluate the learning outcomes of the LCD Model. The research procedure started by studying relevant documents, analyzing the information, synthesizing and designing the model. The draft model was validated by the experts. The developed LCD Model was implemented in the Computer Mathematic Course (20901-1003) for vocational certificate level of IT branch, Phuket Technical College in the 1st semester academic year 2564 BE with 37 students.

It was found that the experts reported a high level of opinions on the LCD Model. The efficiency of LCD M was 71.17/70.86 higher than the set criteria of 70/70. The students’ progress can be seen from the significantly higher average score of the posttest of 29.80 or 0.01 significant level. In addition, the stakeholders reported high satisfaction at 4.44 towards the LCD Model. The implementation of the LCD Model resulted in desirable change of students’ behavior.
