Development of a Practical Training Module for Winding the Stator Coils of Three-phase Double-Layer AC Motors

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) develop a skill training kit for winding the stator coils of a three-phase alternating current motor using a double-layer winding technique, 2) determine the effectiveness index of learning management utilizing the developed training kit, and 3) assess students’ satisfaction with the learning experience. The target group consisted of 18 second-year vocational certificate students in the Electrical Power Department at Trang Technical College enrolling in the Alternating Current Motors Course during the second semester of the 2024 academic year. The participants were selected using a purposive sampling method. The research instruments included the skill training kit for stator coil winding, an achievement test, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean (𝑥̅), standard deviation (S.D.), efficiency measurement (E1/E2), and effectiveness index (E.I.).

The research findings revealed that 1) the developed training kit achieved an efficiency of 80.67/82.50, meeting the set criteria. 2) The students showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes, with an effectiveness index of 0.73. Finally, 3) the students reported the highest level of satisfaction with the learning experience, with a mean score of 4.84 and a standard deviation of 0.31.
