Applying the King’s Philosophy to Educational Management Based on the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy in the Medium-Sized High Schools

This research article aimed to study the application of the King’s philosophy to educational management according to the philosophy of sufficiency economy in medium-sized high schools. It was a mixed-method research with 2 phases as follows: Phase 1 studied the current situation and needs. The sample group consisted of 164 school directors, selected by simple random sampling. Phase 2 studied 3 schools with excellent performance. The target group consisted of 6 school directors and teachers responsible for sufficiency economy, 2 people per school, selected by purposive sampling. The instruments used were questionnaires and interviews. The statistics used were percentages, means, standard deviations, and content analysis.
The research results found that 1) The current situation is at a high level and there is a need to apply the King's philosophy in educational management in 4 areas: school management, personnel development, curriculum development and learning management, and organizing student development activities. 2) Approaches include: school management, emphasizing policy determination, planning, and participation; personnel development, emphasizing personnel development to have competencies in line with their work and be professional; curriculum development and learning management, emphasizing curriculum development appropriate for the development of individual students' potential and using it in learning management effectively; and organizing student development activities, emphasizing the promotion of guidance activities, student activities, activities for society and public benefit, and student care and support systems, using understanding, access to development approaches, and sustainable development as a framework.
