This research purpose of is: 1) to study the community context, potential, and community capital; 2) to examine the model of using community capital to develop products; and 3) to test the model of using community capital to develop products.
This research adopts a participatory action research (PAR) approach, collecting qualitative data through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The key informants include 20 members of the committee and the Ban Khu-Khad-Noy Weaving Group, as well as 10 representatives from network partners.
The results showed that the Ban Khu-Khad-Noy Weaving Group was able to produce 21 weaving patterns, utilizing both chemical dyes and natural dyes,
with black dye derived from Ebony fruits. The group demonstrated diverse wisdom in tying Mudmee silk. Leftover yarn from weaving was creatively used to produce alternate designs, resulting in a unique cloth pattern different from the originals. Community capital was utilized to develop products by integrating the characteristics of clay
pots—representing a traditional local occupation—into the design of a distinctive community pattern. This special pattern, named "A-dae-pla A-dae-Yang" or "Silver Pot - Gold Pot," symbolizes local identity and enhances product value through storytelling. The prototype fabric incorporated Mudmee silk dyed with natural colors from Pterocarpus macrocarpus peel and fermented mud. The dyeing process produced dark brown silk threads, resulting in a naturally dyed fabric that introduced a new and unique product design distinct from previous iterations.
