A Study of Student Motivation Factors Affecting their Decision to Study at the Undergraduate Level at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research aimed to study the personal factors of undergraduate students and the driving factors affecting their decision to pursue undergraduate studies, as well as to compare students' demographic information regarding their hometown with the driving factors affecting their decision to study at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University. The research involved 346 undergraduate students from Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University in the 2024 academic year who participated in completing questionnaires. Data collection was conducted quantitatively using questionnaires. The data was then analyzed using descriptive statistics including mean, standard deviation, and ANOVA to compare students' personal information regarding their hometown with the driving factors affecting their decision to pursue undergraduate studies. The findings revealed that the driving factors affecting students' decision to pursue undergraduate studies at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University across all three aspects were at a high level ( equation = 4.35). The comparison results of students' personal information regarding hometown with the driving factors affecting their decision to pursue undergraduate studies at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University using ANOVA statistics across all three aspects showed that different student hometowns did not result in significant differences in the driving factors affecting students' decision to pursue undergraduate studies at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University.
