Personal factors in the participation of people in democratic governance in Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the level of public opinion on participation in democratic governance of the people of Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, and 2) compare the level of public opinion on participation in democratic governance of the people of Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, classified by personal factors. The sample group consisted of 399 eligible voters living in Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, using Yamane's formula. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a rating scale with 5 levels and a reliability of 0.96.

      The research results found that: 1) The results of the study on the level of public opinion on participation in democratic governance of the people of Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province found that the public had the highest overall opinion on participation in democratic governance of the people of Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. 2) The public had opinions on personal factors in participation in democratic governance of the people of Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Overall, the average value of males and females was not different and in each aspect. 3) The public had opinions on comparing personal factors in participation in democratic governance of the people of Mueang District. Nong Bua Lamphu Province classified by age, classified by education level, and classified by income, overall and in all aspects, no difference. 4) People have opinions on the comparison of personal factors in the participation in democratic governance of people in Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, classified by occupation, participation in democratic governance, in terms of material benefits, and benefits in terms of social status, found that there were no differences. As for benefits in terms of achieving ideology, beliefs, or ideals, and in terms of material benefits, people have opinions on participation in democratic governance that are statistically significant at the .05 level.
