This study aimed to 1) study the levels of social support, self-efficacy, and
self-compassion among professional nurses in Phetchabun Province, and 2) study
the correlations between social support, self-efficacy, and self-compassion among professional nurses in Phetchabun Province. The study sample consisted of 319 professional nurses from Phetchabun Province, selected using a multi-stage random sampling method. The research instruments included a demographic information questionnaire, a social support scale, a self-efficacy scale, and a self-compassion scale. Descriptive statistics frequency, mean, and standard deviation and Pearson’s correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. The results were as follows: 1) the overall level of social support among professional nurses in Phetchabun Province was high (X̅ = 3.74, S.D. = 0.474). Their overall level of perceived self-efficacy was also high (X̅ = 3.88, S.D. = 0.487), as was their overall level of self-compassion (X̅ = 3.90, S.D. = 0.437). 2) Social support among professional nurses in Phetchabun Province was found to be positively correlated with self-compassion at the .05 level of statistical significance. 3) Perceived self-efficacy among professional nurses in Phetchabun Province was likewise positively correlated with self-compassion at the .05 level of statistical significance and 4) Social support among professional nurses in Phetchabun Province demonstrated a significant positive association with their perceived self-efficacy at the .05 level. In summary, the study demonstrates that social support, self-efficacy, and self-compassion are interrelated and mutually reinforcing psychological constructs among professional nurses in Phetchabun Province. The presence of strong social networks contributes to greater self-belief and self-kindness, which in turn promote mental well-being and adaptive coping in professional practice.
