The Development of a Notification System for Academic Staff in Teaching Material and Learning Media of the Innovative Learning Center, Srinakharinwirot University

Abstract

This research aims to develop a notification system for academic staff in teaching material and learning media of the Innovative Learning Center, Srinakharinwirot University. It also seeks to study the efficiency and user satisfaction of the developed system. The system was designed and developed using Google Forms and Google Apps Script integrated with Line Notify to facilitate schedule notifications and reduce redundancies in the work processes of academic staff. The study involved 14 academic staff members in the role of lecturers, appointed to evaluate 21 items of instructional materials and learning resources during the first evaluation cycle of 2025. The research findings revealed that the developed system reduced the number of work steps from 7 to 5 and decreased the working time from approximately 39 hours to 31 hours, representing a 20.51% reduction in total working time. The time measurement was derived from an approximate quantitative assessment based on actual workflow observations of staff in each step. In terms of user satisfaction, the findings indicated a very high level of satisfaction across all aspects. The design and usability of the system received an average score of 4.90 and a standard deviation of 0.30. The information and management aspect scored 4.81 and a standard deviation of 0.40, while the support and maintenance aspect scored 4.84 and a standard deviation of 0.46. The system enhanced the effectiveness of notifications and tracking the evaluation process, improved convenience, and significantly reduced the complexity of staff work processes.
