Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
The Journal of the Thailand Society of Mathematics Education (JTSMEd) places the utmost importance on ethical practices in publishing academic and research articles. To promote credibility, transparency, and high standards, all parties involved—editors, authors, and reviewers—are expected to adhere to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org). Manuscripts that fail to meet these ethical standards may be rejected or returned for revision. All manuscripts are reviewed by at least three experts in the field under a double-blind review process, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers.
Duties of Authors
1. Authors must submit original manuscripts that have not been plagiarized in part or in whole and have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
2. Authors must present research findings truthfully, without falsifying or manipulating data.
3. Authors agree to revise and improve their manuscripts based on initial feedback from the editorial board before being sent to three qualified peer reviewers.
4. Manuscripts must follow the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines, including font, layout, and structure as specified in the template.
5. Proper citation of all sources used must be included in the text and reference list, adhering strictly to the journal’s referencing style.
6. Authors should not include references to works they have not read and should avoid excessive or irrelevant citations.
7. All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the research or manuscript.
8. Any funding sources or potential conflicts of interest must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript and to the editorial board.
9. Authors must accept the editorial board’s decisions regarding publication.
10. Authors may use AI tools for proofreading and grammar enhancement. However, AI-generated content must not exceed 30% of the total manuscript.
Duties of Reviewers
1. Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts objectively and fairly, without bias, providing constructive and academically sound feedback.
2. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not share any part of the manuscript with unauthorized individuals during the review process.
3. Reviewers should have expertise in the subject area of the manuscript and must inform the editor if they feel unqualified to review.
4. Reviewers must notify the editor if they identify substantial overlap with other published works.
Duties of Editors
Duties of Editors
1. Editors must ensure that submitted manuscripts align with the aims and scope of the journal. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria must be promptly rejected with clear communication to the authors. Previously published works or conference proceedings will not be accepted.
2. Editors must perform an initial quality check of manuscripts and determine whether they are suitable for peer review by three qualified experts.
3. Editors are responsible for selecting appropriate reviewers who possess the necessary expertise. The identities of both authors and reviewers must remain confidential at all times.
4. Editors must not reject manuscripts based on suspicion alone but must gather clear evidence and request clarification from the authors before making a decision.
5. Editors must conduct plagiarism checks, including detection of AI-generated content, using reliable software. Manuscripts with more than 30% AI-generated content must be rejected immediately.
6. If plagiarism is identified during the review process, the editor must suspend the review and contact the authors for an explanation. Editors have the right to withdraw the article without author consent if misconduct is confirmed.
7. Editors must ensure that each issue of the journal is published accurately, completely, and on schedule.
8. Editors must avoid conflicts of interest with authors, reviewers, or any other parties and must not use journal content for commercial purposes.
