The Roles of Sub district Headmen and Village Headmen in Participating in Maklue Kao Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to study the problems and obstacles the sub district headmen and the village headmen encounter when they implement their jobs in the sub district administration organizations, to solicit the opinions and needs concerning their roles in the organizations, and to find ways to enhance their knowledge and understanding so that they can work together well in the organizations. This in turn would benefit their communities and support the policy of decentralization. The sample group in this study are the village headmen, the chairmen of the council, the chairmen of the board and the clerks of Maklue Kao Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province as well as some people in that district. Questionnaires together with interviews are employed as a tool of data collecting. The percentage, the frequency and t-statistic are used for data analysis. The study shows that during their times in the organizations, the sub district headmen and the village headmen would serve the villagers fast and suitably. Their projects are in accordance with the villagers’ need and they could solve the villagers’ problems. As for the problems and obstacles in carrying out their jobs, they have limited budgets and thus could not serve all areas. The village headmen and the village headmen receive full cooperation from the villagers in developing their Sub- districts. Their projects could solve the problems right to the point. They dissipate the news to the villagers fast and continually.
