Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics for Business Research

Author Ethical Responsibilities

  1. No Duplicate Submissions: Manuscripts submitted for publication must be original and not previously published elsewhere. Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.

  2. Relevance to the Journal’s Scope: The content of the manuscript must align with the journal’s aims and scope within the field of business and management.

  3. Avoidance of Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be the original work of the authors and must not contain any form of plagiarism, including improper paraphrasing or unauthorized use of another’s work.

  4. Proper Citation of Sources: If incorporating ideas, theories, data, or tools from other sources, authors must provide appropriate citations and obtain permission for copyrighted materials such as images, tables, or business models.

  5. Accuracy of References: Authors must ensure that all references cited in the manuscript are accurate, relevant, and formatted according to the journal’s guidelines.

  6. Adherence to Formatting Requirements: Manuscripts must follow the journal’s formatting and style requirements, including font size, structure, and referencing style.

  7. Authorship Integrity: All individuals listed as authors must have made significant contributions to the research and writing process. Ghostwriting and honorary authorship are strictly prohibited.

  8. Disclosure of Funding and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any funding sources that supported the research. If there are any potential conflicts of interest, these must be clearly stated in the manuscript and communicated to the journal’s editorial board.

  9. Responsible Citation Practices: Authors should not cite works they have not personally read. References should be relevant and necessary for the research, avoiding excessive or unnecessary citations.

  10. Acknowledgment of Contributions: If the research benefited from support, advice, or contributions from individuals or institutions, authors should obtain permission before acknowledging them in the manuscript.

  11. Transparency in Data Reporting: Authors must present data accurately and truthfully, avoiding data fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting that could mislead readers. Any data manipulation must be clearly explained and justified.

  12. Ethical Considerations in Business Research:

  • If the research involves third-party data, such as interviews, corporate records, or proprietary business information, authors must obtain permission and ensure confidentiality.
  • If the study involves organizational research, authors should notify and seek approval from relevant authorities within the organization.
  • If the research includes experiments or surveys that could impact participants, authors must obtain informed consent and follow ethical research guidelines.

The decision to publish remains at the discretion of the journal’s editorial board and is final.
