Development in Quality of Life for Elderly Living in Area of Ban Chan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Sangkha District, Surin Province

Abstract

This research has been based on the objective of studying the quality of life in elderly living in the area of Ban Chan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Sangkha District, Surin Province. It is a quantitative research with the usage of survey research method on the basis of one-shot study. Accordingly, questionnaires are used as tools for collecting data from both 287 male and female elderly aging 60 years upwards, who have been residing in Ban Chan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Sangkha District, Surin Province. From the study, the results have been found that:- Most of the targets are generally female elderly who have ages between 70 – 75 years living with their spouse and are taken care by their children. The basic requirement of the elderly living in Ban Chan Subdistrict Administrative Organization averagely fair. After prioritizing requirement they need, we find that the requirement on being encouraged during their ailing time is the most and secondly is having companions as their consultants and being respected and accepted by family members and neighbors. The levels of attitude towards development of quality of life for elderly living in the area of Ban Chan Subdistrict Administrative Organization are surveyed and the result is in average level.
